Typeflow vs. Aeropages: features

Aeropages offers a range of solutions. Generating PDFs is only one feature. Please feel free to discover the solution they offer in the images. In the review, we will focus mainly on PDF generation. Indeed, that's Typeflow territory.

Aeropage solution

When we tried the product, the first thing we noticed was the lack of logic/guidance to help users set things up. From connecting the data source to building a template or mapping the data, the customer journey has many roadblocks. Now, let's talk about the PDF generation features.

Aeropages has a builder template, thanks to which advanced document templates can be created. However, navigating the builder and building what you have in mind takes work. Fortunately, they have templates, so it's possible not to start from scratch.

Now, mapping the data between Airtable and the template is simple. You can select a field from Airtable directly into a part of your template. It will show the results directly by automatically selecting one of your records from the selected base from Airtable.

But it looks like it misses some features, like line items. Indeed, it's possible to add a table to your template, but then it's not possible to access a linked record from another table in the table. This feature is crucial because it allows Airtable data to be properly structured. Not having this one might imply some rearrangement that would negatively impact the data structure.

Aeropage allows you to integrate conditional formatting. You can add images and tables when creating your template.

Aeropage has all the necessary features to generate basic PDFs. However, globally, It isn't the most user-friendly software. A bad UX can prevent you from achieving your goal. In our case, we try to build the easiest software possible with Typeflow. We might have a bit fewer features than Aeropage, like no page builder, but we ensure that when users use us, they don't struggle to implement anything.

Typeflow vs Aeropage: integrations

Aeropage has many integrations. Indeed, they integrate natively with Airtable, but not only. They integrate with:

  • Notion
  • Open AI
  • Xano
  • API

They can cover many use cases! This is just a quick reminder that generating PDFs isn't their only product. So, it's an amazing tool if you have multiple use cases and software!

At Typeflow, we only cover one integration with Airtable. We also solve one use case, generating PDFs. So if you need a more complete product, Aeropage is better for you!

Aeropage vs Typeflow: Pricing

Depending on your use case, Aeropage can be competitive. At 24$ per month for 1000 API calls it's a lot if it's only for generating PDFs. But if you cover multiple use cases, with many integrations then it can't be enough and can be seen as expensive.

At Typeflow, we have one pricing now: a lifetime plan at 150$ that lets you generate as many documents as needed.

So, if you only need to generate PDFs based on Airtable data, Typeflow is certainly the best and cheapest solution. If you need to cover more use cases and have many tools, Aeropage is more suited to your needs.
