Why Am I Getting "Reconnect Your Google Account" Emails?
TypeFlow sends this email when it detects that your Google account is missing required permissions. However, in some cases this email was sent incorrectly due to a temporary token expiry - not actual missing permissions. This has been fixed.
Overview
TypeFlow uses Google OAuth to access your Google Docs and Google Drive. Google access tokens expire every hour, and TypeFlow automatically refreshes them in the background.
Previously, if a document generation happened during the brief window when a token was being refreshed, you could receive a false "reconnect your Google account" email - even though nothing was wrong. This has been fixed as of June 23, 2026.
When You Can Ignore the Email
You can safely ignore the reconnect email if:
- The email says "missing the following permissions" but the list is empty (no permissions listed)
- Your documents are generating normally
- You have not changed your Google password or revoked TypeFlow access recently
When You Need to Reconnect
You should reconnect your Google account if:
- The email lists specific permissions that are missing (e.g., "Google Drive access", "Google Docs access")
- Your document generation is failing with an error
- You recently changed your Google password or removed TypeFlow from your Google account permissions
How to Reconnect
- Go to your integrations page
- Click Reconnect on your Google account
- Make sure to check all permission boxes during the Google consent screen
- Try generating a document to confirm everything works
